SAT and ACT Resources
The SAT and ACT are nationally recognized standardized tests. Both SAT and ACT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. (Either of these tests can be taken to qualify for the Alaska Performance Scholarship)

ACCUPLACER Resources (See Ms. Natali if cost is a barrier)
Prior to taking the accuplacer you will first need to sign up as a non-degree seeking student to get a student ID if you have not been accepted into a UAA college and are not using your test scores for jumpstart. If you have a UAA student id provided by the university skip this step. You will need your social security number

- Click First Time Account Creation
- Create a login id and password (School id is one you already remember)
- Click the campus you are going to attend (Kenai Peninsula College for Jumpstart)
- Choose Secondary School
- Click Continue
- Choose the semester and year you will be attending
- Click Continue through all the blue buttons and screens until each blue button has a check mark
- Click application is complete
The accuplacer is a placement test used for Alaska colleges and universities. It test your level of wrtiting. You may be able to use your ACT or SAT scores for more info https://www.uaa.alaska.edu/students/testing/accuplacer.cshtml
If in the Homer area you can contact the testing center to schedule an appointment to take the test at the Kachemak Bay Campus (907) 235-1601
The cost is $18.00 in person

If you are outside of Homer you need to sign up for a vitual remote proctor accuplacer test – Choose accuplacer in the first box then Accuplacer Remote From Home (You can take this from school, but that is the option)
- Go to Appointments.UAA.alaska.edu
- Select ACCUPLACER REMOTE online and complete the requested information on the form
- Once you have been registered you will receive a confirmation email with login credentials from Examity. You will then login into the Examity dashboard. From here, you will set up a profile and schedule your exam using the voucher code provided to you by the testing center. You will be prompted to pay an additional $25.00 fee for the Virtual Proctor.
- Take the exam within 90 days of the date the voucher was emailed to you. The voucher is only valid for that time period. If you do not take your exam within the 90 days, you will be required to register and pay your fees again.
